Kenji Yokezu (除津建二 (よけづけんじ) , Yokezu Kenji^?) is an old man that enjoys playing the lottery and he was the previous owner of Unavoidable before it was passed to Void.

Appearance

Kenji is an elderly, noticeably attractive man who wears a dark coat atop a button up shirt and a scarf wrapped around his neck. His beautiful face is notabley aged, with many wrinkles sagging down his face. He is left with very little hair and always keeps his eyes shut.

Kenji enjoys playing the lottery as he always wins.

Plot

Union Arc

During the meeting to see what quests they should go after, Bau reveals to the rest of the Union that Void has yet to awaken Unavoidable. It instead belonging to Kenji, who uses it to win the lottery. As a result, they decide to go after UMA Autumn first and wait until Kenji has passed so they can recruit Void.

Following the events of Operation Metamorfall, Bau tells the Union that he has passed away, seemingly from natural causes.

Powers & Abilities

Unavoidable (不可避 (アンアボイダブル) , An'aboidaburu^?): Kenji's interpretation of his powers means the lottery prizes he plays for are unable to avoid him allowing him to always win.

Etymology

• The name Kenji means "built/build" (建) (ken) and "two" (二) (ji).
• Kenji's surname Yokezu means "exclude, division (x/3), remove, abolish, cancel, except" (除) (yoke) and "haven, port, harbor, ferry" (津) (tsu/zu).
  • "Yokezu" is a homophone for "避けず" meaning "no avoiding".

• His full name sounds like Kenshi Yonezu (米津玄師), a very well known Japanese musician.
