Sadako Kurusu (来栖 貞子, Kurusu Sadako), also known as Kururu, is no.8 of Under. She was an idol before awakening to Unchaste.
Appearance[]
Sadako is a young girl with strawberry-blonde hair she keeps tied in two pigtails with pink bows. She wears a frilly uniform-like outfit with an Under pin.
In the 101th Loop, Sadako wears a outfit more fitting for Punk Rock, with black hair ties, a leather jacket, a plain white shirt, and a black skirt with white frills at the end.
Personality[]
Sadako is a cheerful but determined person, putting in a lot of work to follow her dream of being an idol, but can still become despondent when things don't go her way, seen in Fuuko's escape. She is very dedicated to her aspirations and tries to keep a positive attitude despite her ability preventing her from being an idol ever again.
In the 101st Loop, she is very different from her previous persona, being more aggressive and temperamental.
Plot[]
History[]
Sadako dreamt of being an idol someday and trained diligently to become one, finding some success in the amateur idol scene. She was set to perform at Idol Festival Vol 20[2], but while she was on stage Unchaste manifested, causing a stampede among the crowd, possibly leading to many injuries. She was thus forced to abandon her dream. At some point later, she is recruited by Under.
Spring Arc[]
Sadako is present at the stolen Roundtable when Fuuko comes to Under, happy that the new member is a girl[3]. Later, while Fuuko is escaping to relay information about the Spring Raid she tries to stop her but Unchaste fails to take effect due to Fuuko's feelings towards Andy.
Sadako stays behind with Enjin during the raid.
Ragnarok Arc[]
While Sun is manifesting on Earth, she and Enjin are seen escorting civilians.
Union Arc[]
She is mentioned as one of the Negators Fuuko wants to save as part of the Ultimate Union.
Unburn Arc[]
She is one of the Negators revealed by Andy's Soul Boost Finger Bullets.[4]
Unchaste Arc[]
After defeating Language, the Union sets out to find the last members revealed by Andy: Backs, Tatiana and Sadako. Nico sets out to recruit Tatiana, since her armor is of his design while Ichico will look for Backs, as she believes that Astral Projection will stop her from becoming trapped in her suit. This leaves Fuuko to find Sadako at Idol Festival - initially she refuses, as the tragedy will involve a large crowd an she fears causing a disaster if Unluck triggers; Nico shows her the poster for the event and draws her attention to one of the acts: Kaede Izumo, Fuuko's mother - urging her to go meet her.
Fuuko learns from talking to Kaede that she and Kururu started out together as an idol duo and were close friends, but the growing gap in their talents resulted in Kaede turning down the offer to join Kururu in a larger agency and going solo. However, Kururu had been the one that invited Kaede to the upcoming Idol Festival as an act despite Kaede's lack of popularity.
Afterwards, Soul explains that Fuuko is starting to fade away due to having lived too long, her soul is effectively breaking after using Soul Bullet against Beast. Humans gain their souls from their parents, so Fuuko just needs Kaede and Raita to get together, however to prevent this Soul has deployed Kurusu. She has been empowered by her own soul, allowing Unchaste's activation and effects to be significantly stronger, which she immediately uses to make Billy, Tella, Shen and Rip switch teams since their memories have been altered to replace their loved ones with Kurusu. Kurusu then declares to Kaede that she's "done losing" and goes on stage, playing a heavy metal song instead of her usual pop music.

Unchaste (
There are two ways to avoid the ability, the first, by not yet knowing romance and the second, by having someone who you truly love in your heart.
In the 101st Loop, Kurusu has gained a different interpretation of her ability somehow related to Soul's interference: now Unchaste erases a beloved person in the target's memory and replaces them with Kurusu, causing them to love her. This even affects targets who were immune in the previous Loop.
Idol Training: As an aspiring idol, Sadako is skilled in singing and dancing.

Etymology[]
- The name Sadako means "fidelity, upright, chastity, constancy, righteousness" (貞) (sada) and "child" (子) (ko).
- Sadako's surname Kurusu means "coming/come, next, since, due, cause, become" (来) (kuru) and "nest, rookery, hive, cobweb, den" (栖) (su).
