Sean Datz (ショーン・ダッツ?) is a member of The Union and formerly held the 10th seat of the 101st Round Table. He is a Negator with the alias Unseen.
He was formally a member of Under during the 100th loop.
Appearance[]
Sean was a young adult in his late teens to early twenties. He had three eyes, with the third one situated in the middle of his temple, and light-colored hair with long sideburns that frame his face. He kept his hair parted in the middle to allow his third eye to see. He also had two piercings in his right ear. During his mission with Rip, he wore a backwards cap, a dark-colored down jacket and a pair of denim jeans.
His appearance in the 101st loop is mostly the same, but he has a tuft of hair that sticks out around his forehead and lacks the piercings.
Personality[]
Originally, in the 100th Loop, Sean was depicted to be more cold and less kind, likely due to the years he spent being a gang member and thief. However, in the 101st Loop, Sean has had less experience in that field, and still retained memory of his father. Sean is shown to be easier to sway and very naive to the point of recklessness, due to his desire for attention and wanting to be useful. Sean is also now less unwilling to play a “side character” role, as shown when he helps assist Fuuko in defeating Creed.
History[]
Sean was the son of an actor who throughout his career, continued to play minor roles. As a child, Sean auditioned to perform the main role in his school play, loathing the idea of being a minor actor the way his father was. In the end, he ended up playing the tree, but his father was proud regardless. Later in his adulthood, he auditioned to perform in the sequel to a movie his father performed in, Dead Gang, and it was during this performance his ability, Unseen, manifested, much to the shock of the judges. At home, he would film himself reciting the audition, and found every time he blinked, he vanished. Sean would go into hiding from society out of shame for his power, which didn't allow him to perform as an actor anymore. Rumors spread of his ability as he fell into a depression, eventually being found by a Brazilian gang leader and taken in, using his ability to rob and later murder[2][3].

Spoil Arc[]
His capture was part of the 99th Penalty quest, but he was instead kidnapped by Under during a crime spree before the Union could find him.
Autumn Arc[]
Sean accompanies Rip in his mission to stop Andy and Fuuko in their quest to subdue Autumn which lead to Sean and Rip following Andy, Fuuko and Anno Un to the writer's house. With Andy and Fuuko incapacitated as they journey through Andy's memories, Rip fights Anno Un to get to the two Union members and Sean uses his Negator abilities to stay hidden.[4]
After severing Anno Un's remaining arm, Rip warns Sean to refrain from hurting Fuuko. Sean, however, ignores Rip and quickly approaches Fuuko with his switchblade on hand, aiming to slash open her throat to get a higher seat than Rip. As Sean closes in on Fuuko, Andy suddenly appears and Anno Un promptly instructs him to use his Deadline attack. Andy follows Anno Un's command without hesitation and uses his blood to slice the area around him. Sean due to his ability is caught in the attack and is cut in half. As his upper body falls to the ground, Sean's death deactivates his ability and the group is surprised to see the dead Negator.[4]
Union Arc[]
He's shows up in Fuuko's announcement to Move about saving the Negators from their tragedies so everyone can work together to slay the Gods.
Negator War Arc[]
He appears during the hunt for members to enter the war where Billy and his comrades would awaken their powers in, being chased by Union members who can see him. He panics as why they can see him, worried if it's because he stole his boss's money. Fuuko notes to Nico how early Sean has been born in this loop, and wonders if his soul wanted this so they could come together faster. He is eventually cornered by Void's Unavoidable, but tries to gut Fuuko before being put into an arm lock.
Later, he is then made part of the the Union's force that enters the conflict in Bujora, South America to save the three members that would found Under. As he reminisces about his past, he desperately tries to flee, as he didn't want to get into a fight. He even goes as far as to try and sell out the Union, only for Creed to show his disgust at them all for having such a "miscast" on their team. However, Fuuko's kind words, as well as his memories of his childhood having not faded away yet, allow him to utilize Unseen in a new way; by making people he holds onto invisible as well, allowing Fuuko to sneak up and knock out Creed.
When both sides of the conflict try and carpet bomb the island to claim Disc, Seen helps Yusai in dealing with enemies, allowing Fuuko and Gina to reach and claim Disc, ending the conflict. When Fuuko has everyone try and attack Billy to make him recognize her team's strength, he gets elbowed by Billy, who can still hear him, and is left with in tears and a bloody nose. When Disc begins to fall, Seen, and the rest of the Union, show their trust to Fuuko during her quickdraw with Billy.
Unfeel Arc[]
Sean later tries to go to space to help in Phil's rescue mission, but she refuses to let him go, stating that his negator ability will condemn him to drift helplessly in space. As he runs away in tears, he is stopped by Gina, who also wants to join the mission as well, but can't because she currently benched after the Bujora war. To sneak aboard the rocket, which had a strict weight limit, she helps Sean train to reinterpret his "Unseen" to become undetectable by anything, allowing them to sneak aboard the rocket as it blasts off. However, they nearly give themselves away when Gina panics upon realizing she never came up with an excuse, but uses the team's panic in needing an anchor to try and smooth things over. Following being reprimanded, Gina and Sean work together to help the crew board the station, with Sean checking for any holes Gina made on her platform.
Unmove Arc[]
Sean is one of the members of the team sent to Chikara's school to watch over him and help him once he awakens Unmove, with Sean posing as a student like Fuuko and Gina. When Chikara's tragedy begins to unfold, he uses his power to sneak Fuuko and Gina close enough to stop the truck that would run over Chikara's parents without them getting caught by Unmove. Following this, he and the rest of the Union stays and continues watching over the student until graduation. When UMA Colours appears, he and the rest of the Union pull out, with everyone but Chikara's memories being altered so that they were never here, due to Fuuko not wanting Chikara to suffer like in the last loop. When Chikara reaches the rest of the Union, Sean appears and tells him while Fuuko wants to cut ties with him, he wants Chikara to make the final decision to whether or not to join the Union. Working together, Chikara and Sean manage to keep Colours in place long enough for Fuuko to finish it.
Sick Arc[]
Sean appears along with the rest of the Union at Iseult Hospital when Sick arrives for the second time. Working together with Chikara, he turns them both invisible in Leila's operation room to wait until the moment Rip and Latla's abilities transfer to them so Chikara can stop Rip right before he cuts into Leila. After Fuuko takes over Leila's operation, Fuuko has Sean and Chikara accompany Rip and Latla to help give the latter two an opening to cut Sick with an Unrepair-infused Blade Runner.
Powers & Abilities[]
Unseen (
Third Eye: In the 100th loop, Sean had a third eye on his forehead which allowed him to see even when he has both his human eyes closed while using Unseen. The effects of Unseen are not affected by this eye, likely due to Sean not seeing the third eye forcefully grafted onto him as his property.
Equipment[]
Switchblade: Sean carried a switchblade knife, specifically a butterfly knife.[4]
Trivia[]
- Sean is one of if not the only character in Undead Unluck to have his weight revealed.
- In Akira Kuno's vision, Sean succeeded in killing Fuuko as she and Andy fought Autumn. This inadvertently led to the Negators' defeat at the hands of God.[4]
