Shen Xiang (シェン＝シアン, Shen Shian) is member no. 2 of the Round Table, and no. 8 of the 101st loop, being the Negator with the alias Untruth.
He lived in China before becoming a member.
Appearance[]
Shen is a tall, young-looking man dressed in Chinese clothing. He has blue eyes with blue hair and a very built physique.
Personality[]
Shen is a very peppy person, often looking at the lighter side of situations. However, he despises Feng due to the role he played in Mei's death.
He enjoys fighting and loves finding strong people to spar with.
Plot[]
Intro Arc[]
Void and Shen are sent to kill "Unluck" Fuuko Izumo and capture "Undead" Andy. Upon locating them and arriving, Void instantly attacks Andy, while Shen captures Fuuko. Void reminds Shen of their mission and wants him to kill Fuuko, but Shen first wants to chat with her and then starts flirting. Shen stays away and watches Andy and Void's fight. He tells Fuuko that the meteorite from yesterday raised their priority capture level and other Negators like them will be hunting them. Fuuko wonders why Shen isn't hunted like them. Void tries to stop Shen, but Shen still ends up explaining what the Union is and that there are ten seated Negators who are not hunted. Fuuko comes up with the idea to join the Union and Andy agrees, but for that, they needed to kill Void and Shen.
Andy ends up touching Fuuko and her unluck triggers, causing a truck to fall on them. As the truck explodes, Shen gets protected by Void. Continuing their fight, Andy eventually kills Void to Shen's surprise. Andy then turns at Shen, but Shen easily blocks all of his attacks. Fuuko manages to give Andy his sword, but as he hesitates to kill Shen just for a moment, Shen manages to activate his ability and prevent Andy from moving. Shen wonders if Andy hesitated because he didn't want Fuuko to see him kill. Fuuko then tries to attack Shen, but he easily dodges her. As now they are both in his line of sight, Andy realizes they lost and suggests Fuuko join the Union to replace Void. But seeing Fuuko and Andy start to argue about who should join, Shen decides to tell them the location of another Union member, and if the two can kill him, then both of them can join the Union.
Unchange Arc[]
Returning to the organization, he tells Mui that he hasn't had that fun in a while and asks her to smooth things with higher-ups. Mui reveals that Gina is at lake Baikal and she is in pursuit of Andy, but Shen believes they will be fine.
Spoil Arc[]
Andy and Fuuko are brought to the roundtable, and Andy shoots fingers at each member, but Shen kicks the one aimed at him. When Apocalypse gives the new quests, Andy asks for the hardest one and decides to take it with Fuuko and Shen, and even though Shen tries to disagree, Apocalypse attempts the request.
Preparing for the mission, Shen tries to give Andy uniform, but Andy refuses it and Shen explains that the uniform is bulletproof, stab-proof, and overall quite sturdy, while the necktie would provide him a variety of services and the emblem will allow him to participate in the quests, but Andy still had no desire to wear one. An UMA then escapes, Clothes, and takes over Mui. Shen and Andy try fighting her, but Fuuko eventually knocks her out with her unluck. As they learn about rotting corpse wandering in New York, and believing to be related to Spoil, they head out.
Reaching Nevada, Shen reveals he was on top of their truck as Andy attempted to leave him behind and he was traveling as a stowaway. When Fuuko invites him inside, he reveals that "spoil" means to decay and they will be facing him and his zombie army. When they take a break for the night, Fuuko asks why Shen joined the quest, but realizes he was forced by Andy. Shen comments that's half the truth and as the quest is expected to be difficult, he may get the chance to see Victor.
Reaching Longing, Andy rushes and starts fighting zombies and finds one that is willing to show him where Spoil is. Shen then reminds him that he should be more careful as UMA are not like Negators, as they are the very rules themselves, the majority of them activate their ability just by entering their range. At that moment, they see a number on Andy's stomach and realize he is in Spoil's range. Andy decides to wait until the number reaches zero and he starts to decay and heal non-stop. He starts to understand the zombies and heads out with the female zombie that promises to tell him where Spoil is. Shen reminds him, that they need to capture Spoil and not kill him. As Fuuko sees some kids and follows them, in order to prove that they are not there to kill them, she enters Spoil's range and gets cursed. Seeing that Shen decides to enter the range too. As they learn what happened in the town, they hear tremors and see that Andy along with the zombies are fighting Spoil.
Eventually, Spoil enters phase two and due to his spoil field, Andy regeneration can no longer keep up. Shen realizes he can use Nyoi-Kinko Staff and goes to take it and starts fighting Spoil, keeping his distance and extending the staff and hitting him. Spoil starts to wonder why his body isn't listening, but Shen had activated his ability causing him to do the exact opposite of what Spoil wants to do. Shen thanks Spoil for his overwhelming power as that way he may be able to see Victor. He tells Andy that they need to take out the core in Spoil and Fuuko suggests space as there isn't moisture and his spoil ability won't work. Shen tells Andy that he can send them to space, but he will be traveling with Spoil and in his current state he won't be able to fight his spoil ability, but his real him would. Andy accepts to remove his card and pinpointing Spoil, Shen extends the staff sending both Spoil and Andy in space.
A bit later, Andy returns with Spoil's core and Shen tells Mui to beam it. He realizes that Andy feels like a different person and calls him God of Victory - Victhor, but Victor tells him he is just human and not a god. He engages him in combat, but even though he is using his ability, Victor still manages to beat him easily. Shen admits defeat, and as it's unable to keep his promise to Andy to beat Victor, he calls the Union who arrive and starts fighting Victor.
Top takes Shen and Fuuko outside town, but Fuuko decides to return and Shen explains he can't stop her. When Fuuko manages to activate her ability and the members retreated to not get caught in her unluck, Shen uses the staff to lift himself up and be able to see Victor from a large distance in order to activate his ability and stop him, who then was hit by Fuuko's Unluck and got defeated.

He shows up at the very end of the arc, being ordered by Juiz over their comms to go to Taiwain to hunt down the UMA Summer.

In the 101st timeline, Shen and Mei were abandoned by their parents when he was three, before being raised by Feng, following Feng's defeat against Fuuko. However, because Feng only cared about raising the boy so he could fight Fuuko again, Shen threatened to take his own life if he didn't raise Mei as well.
During this time, he met Mui much earlier, and soon began to fall in love with her, teaching her the moves Feng taught him. After being told about her sick brother and Tenraisai, he decides to enter it, despite the danger due to Feng being the final opponent, to get the special medicine that could save him. Mui joined as well, wanting to save her brother despite his instance not to. When Fuuko and the Union enter Tenraisai as well and get Feng's attention, he shows up to protect Fuuko from an attack. When Feng tries attacking with the same moved that killed him in the past loop, Fuuko and Shen work together to stop it. Feng backs off after hearing from Fuuko how strong Feng can become, Fuuko then explains to Shen and Mui (who came to the tournament to check up on him) the truth of the world and loops. While they don't believe her, Shen does believe in her strength when they worked in synch to stop Feng's attack, asking her how to become stronger. She does this by imbuing him with Unluck, causing every Negator of the Union to be set up against him.

Untruth (
- Parry: Shen takes up a stance that leaves one side of his body heavily guarded and another side vulnerable to attacks. When his opponent goes to attack that area he uses Untruth to make them attack the other side of his body. He then uses his hands to parry the attack.
Master Martial Artist: Shen is a great martial artist being shown as very skilled in hand-to-hand combat managing to fight Andy for a while during his first confrontation and exchange a few blows with Victor before the rest of the Union appears to stop him. when even goes on to create his own style of martial arts, Shin Hakkyoku.
- Mountain Strike(Hakkai Zanko): Shen dashes at high speed towards the enemy delivering a powerful body blow, he can use the force of impact to knock his opponents into the air.
- Gofukusei-Five Point Unsin Star: Shen dashes at the enemy almost instantaneously before simultaneously striking the head, knee, shoulders, and remaining knee in that order, incapacitating them and breaking the bones in the targeted areas. Shen crafted this Shin Hakkyoku-Style Secret Technique after thinking of the icon of a star after UMA Galaxy's arrival.

Master Staffmanship: Shen is very skilled in using his staff as a weapon, managing to handle it perfectly, delivering quick and precise strokes by extending the staff to increase the range of the strikes.
Multilingualism: Shen was able to speak English and Mandarin even after capturing the UMA Language he doesn't need to speak Mandarin anymore.

Andy: Shen finds Andy very interesting and desires to spar with him.
Equipment[]
Nyoi-Kinko Staff: Shen carries this as his main weapon. It is an artifact from Journey to the West novel, that can expand and retract at incredible lengths.[3] It has Negator Unbreakable sign on it.
Kinto'un Cloud: An artifact Shen uses for mobility. It's a flying cloud Shen can summon that carries him and his allies around.
Etymology[]
- Shen (神) is the Chinese word for "deity", "spirit", heart, inclusive and community mind, or future mind.
- Shen’s full name “Shen Xiang” might be in reference to the monk Xuanzang (Shu-Ahn-Zong) the virtuous monk and master of The Monkey King from Journey to the West.
- The Chinese word for "Truth" is 真相 (Zhēnxiàng).
