Sick (シック Shikku?) is the UMA that embodies sickness. He is also known as the "Tenth Master Rule UMA". He serves as the main antagonist of the Sick Arc.
Appearance[]
Sick takes on the appearance of a human with a slender but tall and fit build. Being the Tenth Master Rule, Sick has an X on his chest signifying his ranking within the Master Rules. He wears long pants with zippers running down each pant leg that have belts around them. He has long black hair that reaches down to his hips and his face is absent of eyebrows. Near the end of his fight against the Union, he is cut in half by Rip and Latla's Blade Runner, giving him an unrepairable injury. Later he seems to have stitched his halves together, but the injury remains.
Personality[]
He has something of a "conductor" personality, seeing the agony of humans infected by his powers as "music", and believes himself to be the only rule capably of "letting this world turn beautifully" by culling humanity. He seems to have a complex about being the weakest of the 10 Master Rules, given how the others harshly mock him and his rule following his defeat, and notable perks up when Fuuko calls him strong despite that. This seems to tie into confronting the "first seat", and his sudden depression when Fuuko ignores him before getting back up by stating they're so "commonplace" that its why she's ignoring him. He's also quite battle hungry, given his excitement at Rip and Latla cutting off his arm rather than show distress.
Plot[]
Like all other UMAs, Sick was created by God at the beginning of the loops, when he began adding rules to the newly created world to test humans. According to Time, Sick was created to regulate the overabudant number of lives that had come into being.
Sick Arc[]
Sick's presence is first made apparent when his Juniors start causes all the patients of Iseult Hospital to become deathly ill, with them only being saved thanks to Fuuko and Rip's efforts. He then appears in person when the second wave hits both the patients and the staff, stating their suffering is "killer music" to his ears. He then fights Fuuko until the rest of the Union arrives to back her up, and then gets comically depressed when Fuuko leaves to help Rip and Latla with Blade Runner before getting back into the fight and infecting several members of the Union.
As he has Gina in his claws, Gina spits in his face and mocks him, only for him to rant how his culling of humanity is necessary for the world to exist as he begins to steal Gina's soul. Sick loses his arm thanks to Rip, and is then gets sidetracked by Fuuko's reappearance and operation on Leila, the hospital's sickest patient. Despite playing smart by turning off all the lights with his Juniors, Latla's Untrust alongside the doctors he made ill beforehand using emergency flashlights to expose him, allows the Blade Runner users to bisect him in two. Despite this, he manages to cause Fuuko to invoke her Unluck by cutting a piece of her hair, which touches Rip and causes a meteor to start falling. Sick takes the time to mock Andy, stating that his fate was sealed when he became Undead and is destined to live cursed forever. However, he is attacked by a hand of Andy's, which regenerates into a clone and with the other Union's help, is nearly killed before being teleported away back to the Master Room thanks to Move's desire for a more exciting battle, which Apocalypse derides as "Interfering with the sacred Quests". Sick is then seen, barely conscious and badly wounded in the Master Room, reprimanded by the other Master Rules before notably perking up when Fuuko states despite being the weakest of them all, he was still a terribly strong opponent.
Abilities[]
Sick attacks Fuuko with his Juniors
- Illness Inducement: Sick, fitting his name, has the power to make humans sick. This can be done either through his mere presence, or by launching his Juniors at the target if they are healthy.
- Junior Creation: One of the main ways Sick spreads diseases is through his Juniors, who appear as floating black orbs. Sick is able to control them in various ways, generating spikes capable of infecting those they pierce or mouths capable of easily tearing a body apart. Each Junior is capable of multiplying once torn to pieces, making them particularly difficult to eliminate.
- Soul Stealing: He can seemingly steal the souls of his victims, so long as they have been infected beforehand, increasing his power.
- Regeneration: Due to his status as a Master Rule, Sick is stated to posses such high regeneration that only Unrepair can do any lasting damage to him.
- Durability: Despite losing his arm and being bisected vertically by Unrepair, he can still keep fighting with little issue.
