Overview

Soul Caliber is an orb that can take people's souls out of their bodies and seal them into objects.

Plot

History

By consulting the G-Liner's memories, Akira was able to locate the Soul Caliber in a swamp, he later implanted it on his avatar's chest.

Autumn Arc

After their first fight against Autumn, where they realized they we're completely outmatched, Anno Un used G-Liner to create a copy of Autumn's claw and used it on Andy, turning him into a book - he then took Fuuko's soul out of her body with Soul Caliber and placed it inside the book so that she may explore Andy's memories and grow stronger through their new understanding of each other. Through this growth Andy was able to stop Sean from killing Fuuko, which in the original timeline seen by Akira, led to the Union's defeat.

During the second fight with Autumn, Anno created a copy of Life is Strange to age Rip back into an adult so that he could fight at full strength. Anno was subsequently aged up 150 years, instantly turning to dust and leaving behind the broken G-Liner and Soul Caliber, which were taken by Latla. They handed over the pen and Autumn's core, but kept Soul Caliber.

Union Arc

The 101st Loop's Soul Caliber is currently in possession of Fuuko, who uses it to to allow Gina to speak with her previous self by entering Fuuko's book form after being transmuted by Autumn so that she may learn to master Unchange and later teach Ichico how to use Astral Projection to mitigate the effects of Unsleep.

• Soul Caliber's name is a reference to the video games series Soulcalibur.
• It's powers may also pay homage to the Shaman King manga series.
