Tatiana (タチアナ Tachiana?) is member no. 5 of the 100th Round Table. She is a Negator with the alias Untouchable.
She lived in Russia before becoming a member. She was a young child during the 100th Loop, while in the 101st Loop, she is a bit older and is a famous fashion model.
Appearance
Armor
Tatiana appears to be an unseen person contained within the mechanical armor [2] with a robotic arm that shoots out its fist and can reshape itself to fire a laser.[3]
Her orb suit has a green eye-like camera on the front that will occasionally contort cartoonishly to showcase her emotions.
Human
When the armor is fully removed in Episode 14 and Chapter 27, it is revealed that Tatiana is a little girl with wavy ankle-length blonde hair that has pink tips with long bangs hanging on either side while she has a single hair strand sticking up on her forehead (Fuuko Izumo comments on how Tatiana's hair is "so long and really pretty!"), she also possesses emerald-green eyes and a thin figure.
She is shown to be completely nude as her ability Untouchable makes it impossible for her to wear clothing, so her long hair is the only thing covering her entire body.
Personality
Tatiana seems to care for her comrades, particularly Billy Alfred and Gina Chamber, but she has a short temper when it comes to their lives.[4]
She was initially very cold towards Andy and Fuuko Izumo due to Andy killing Gina that she immediately attacks him after he first joins the Union and later challenges him to fight over it. She later warms up to the duo, although more to Fuuko than Andy after she tells Tatiana that she was the one who actually caused Gina's death, apologizes for it and expresses a desire to make up for the loss. After that, they soon became friends.
Plot
History
Tatiana was a young girl living in Russia with her parents, enjoying cake and wearing cute clothes. But as she began to blow the candles on her 10th birthday cake, Untouchable manifested and obliterated everything, killing her parents and destroying her home. In despair, she fled to a nearby bridge before she was knocked out and kidnapped by black market dealers attempting to sell her off. Her auction is interrupted by Billy, who killed the man trying to sell her off. When Billy approached her, she begged him to kill her by aiming his gun through her mouth so she could die and be reunited with her family. Billy, instead, feeds her a special cake roll that can bypass Untouchable, convincing her to join him and the Union. She would eventually be given a special mech armor called "Sphere" to keep her power in check.
Unchange Arc
Tatiana was introduced sitting in seat number 5 and had been used as a ricochet for Billy's bullet to block Andy's Finger Bullets.[5] She picks a fight with Andy and Fuuko to avenge Void and Gina.
Spoil Arc
Tatiana shot her fist to hit Andy out of hatred for him killing Gina as she liked her.[2] But to stop them from fighting, Juiz made Andy point his sword at Fuuko while Tatiana points her weapons at Billy and she immediately stopped as she didn't want to kill him.[3]
As Apocalypse gave them their new quests, she took on UMA Burn and Eat quests along with other members.
Later when Spoil is captured, Shen calls the Union for help and Tatiana and the rest come. Victor shoots fingers at each member, but Tatiana deploys shield protect each. Using the shields, Billy make his bullets ricochet and hit Victor from multiple angles. She and the other members continue fighting him while protecting Fuuko until she manages to activate her ability and defeat him.
After the battle, she becomes closer with Fuuko, seeing her as a friend.
Unrepair Arc
After Unrepair's location is revealed as a Quest reward, Tatiana is part of the team sent to investigate along with Andy and Fuuko, leading them to the black auction at the cruise. Tatiana remains outside with the others infiltrate, managing to witness Rip and Latla reach the top deck and kill two guards as well as Creed and Feng be delivered by Kain. Tatiana warns Andy and Fuuko and they head down to the cargo hold to find their target, however the Under members get there first and are about to kill Chikara with Andy barely managing to save him.
Tatiana grabs Creed and Feng so that Andy and Fuuko can battle Rip and Latla. Her armor is totally bulletproof and as such Creed can do no damage to her, but Feng manages to severely dent her armor, much to her shock. When Andy tells her Fuuko was stabbed by Rip and that, due to his ability, this will kill her Tatiana uses Untouchable Area Release, destroying most of the ship and bringing the fight outside - Creed is also partially caught up in the expansion and loses his left arm.
Everyone works together and they manage to defeat Rip and Latla, but cannot prevent them for escaping in Kain. Fuuko asks everyone to keep Chikara's existence a secret for a week to give him the choice over whether or not to join the Union. She initially grumbles but agrees
Unbelievable Arc
When the Four Seasons Quests are revealed along with their penalty being Revolution, Billy bluntly suggests using nukes to kill three of the UMAs, regardless of civilian casualties and horrifying the other Union members who quickly oppose the suggestion. Billy gets up an proclaims none of them have what it takes to kill God and opens fire on them, wounding Isshin. He is restrained by Andy and Shen, but his comment about Isshin enrages Top, who breaks his neck with a kick to Tatiana's horror. Everyone thinks this kills him, but he suddenly stands up and declares he will be the one to kill God, whereupon Burn, with Latla and Rip on his shoulders, bursts through the ground and grabs the Roundtable. Tatiana says that "that can't be Mr. Billy" because he repaired himself and Billy's negation is Unbelievable, which only affects guns. He offers Tatiana the chance to join him, but Fuuko shoots him and Tatiana remains silent, to which he simply says that she is now an enemy and calls her "Untouchable" instead of her name.
Juiz delegates tasks to various members while Andy and Fuuko go after Billy, but simply asks Tatiana to stay put. After Andy has to jump off the Roundtable due to Billy's copy of Unjustice she catches them both, flying towards Burn. Juiz asks Tatiana if she still has feelings about Billy, which Tatiana struggles to answer but when Billy says she doesn't matter and targets her with Unjustice, she is forced to attack him showing she still cares about him. This pushes Apocalypse away, allowing Fuuko to catch him and forcing a draw with Under.
She is later present when Juiz reveal the existence of the Loops, and though initially confused she steels her resolve about killing God.
Summer Arc
Andy, Fuuko, Shen and Mui manage to defeat Feng but Summer manages to enter Second Phase. Shortly after, Tatiana, Chikara and Top arrive to help. Andy coordinates everyone, leading to Tatiana delivering the killing blow against Summer. Due to Summer's death, the world becomes covered in snow as Winter becomes the dominant season. Tella then arrives to negotiate with the Union but Fuuko offers herself up in exchange for killing Winter; given that Billy wants Unluck, they agree and Burn kills Winter. Tatiana is furious that Andy would allow her to just be captured, but he immediately declares that they'll rescue Fuuko.
Spring Arc
While Fuuko is with Under and Andy awaits her communication, Tatiana trains will Top and Chikara in preparation for the Spring Raid. Tatiana is present when Fuuko manages to send a message to the Union with the raid's date, but when Andy clumsily mentions Yusai as his ex-girlfriend she and Mico beat him up for upsetting Fuuko.
When the raid begins, every Union member is paired off with different members of Under as per the match-ups Juiz and Andy drew up. Tatiana, Shen and Mui are paired off to battle Rip, Latla and Backs.
Ragnarok Arc
After the death of Summer, Winter and Spring sets the Pseudo-Revolution in motion, the Union begins capturing and taming UMAs hoping to delay Ragnarok as much as possible. Tatiana is part of the team sent to capture Snow.
Later, during Ruin and Seal's assault on Union HQ, Tatiana is on the frontline to stop them from reaching the Ark. Seal sets off to find and kill Haruka, pursued by Phil, while Ruin stays behind to kill as many Union members as possible. Ruin uses Blood to try to kill Tatiana from the inside but she manages to close her field, however as soon as she takes another breath she will die. Tatiana begins accepting her death and expresses her hope to meet Fuuko again in the next Loop, but Billy suddenly arrives and uses his copy of Undefinition to disrupt Blood's shell, getting it off Tatiana. Billy and Tatiana hold back Ruin while Andy and Fuuko get into the Ark Room.
Later, when Sun approaches the Union HQ to destroy the Ark Tatiana uses her ability to slow him down as much as possible. Ultimately Fuuko successfully loops and everyone on Earth is killed, bringing the 100th Loop to an end.
Union Arc
Tatiana is one of the negators mentioned by Fuuko in her plan to create the "Ultimate Union"
Unburn Arc
Tatiana is one of the negators revealed by Andy's Soul Boost.
Language Arc
After Language's defeat, Nico states he will head to Tatiana's location since he has to develop her armor.
Unchaste Arc
Tatiana is being trailed by Billy, Tella and Chikara when all Union members are pulled back to form the band for Idol Festival.
Untouchable Arc
Abilities
- Untouchable (
不可触 Antatchaburu?): Tatiana has a compulsory, self-targeting Negator ability that produces an invisible spherical barrier from her skin and hair by negating the touch of anything that would approach her. This barrier cannot be damaged, even more so than walls created by Unchange. The barrier gains a hole when Tatiana opens her mouth, allowing her to eat and breathe. The barrier started with only a few feet in diameter, but it continually grows larger year by year, requiring that Nico outfit her with a large mechanized suit to act as a restraint due to this. If the suit opens, it releases the immense pressure contained within as the barrier expands to its full size, obliterating anything in its path. Tatiana can also focus to make the barrier expand even further temporarily.- UT Area Voluntary Release (ＵＴエリア任意解放?): Tatiana willingly opens her armor, allowing the barrier to reach its full size; as it grows it can destroy anything in its way.[6]
- Untouchable Area Instantaneous Release (ＵＴエリア瞬間解放?): Tatiana opens her armor momentarily to create a smaller burst.
- Untouchable Area Specified Release Cylinder: Tatiana opens only a section of her armor, producing a cylindrical area occupied by the barrier.
- Black Metal Armor: Custom build by Nico, the armor allows Tatiana to contain her ability, but it can allows her to walk, fly and manipulate objects through limbs controlled by brainwaves. She also has a camera that reflects her emotions.
- Laser: The suit can file blasts from its arms as shown when she was put under Juiz's control to stop her from fighting Andy.[3]
- Rocket Fist: Tatiana is able to launch her robotic arm's fist at great speed as she used it against Andy to punch him from across the table and into a wall.[2]
- Shields: Tatiana can deploy a number of shields to protect her allies and to surround her opponent with.[7]
Relationships
Billy Alfred
Tatiana first met Billy when he saves her from an auction and asks him to end her life because there was nothing good about living with an ability that killed her parents, but she was later given a cake bar he made and they soon bonded over it. After that, they can usually be seen with each other with Billy becoming a father figure to her and taking care of her well-being.
Tatiana was left utterly heartbroken at Billy being a mole for Under all along and he tries to play this card to get her to join Under in return for saving her life while offering to give her a normal body, but Fuuko Izumo shoots him in the face for it and sympathizes with her sense of debt and self-loathing, but acknowledging the inherent betrayal. Tatiana still loves Billy enough to believe in him and would never voluntarily attack him, although that hesitation proves a way to circumvent his copied Unjustice.
Gina Chamber
Tatiana was devastated about Gina's death.
Andy & Fuuko Izumo
When Fuuko and Andy first joined the Union, Tatiana didn't take this kindly because Andy was responsible for Gina Chamber's death and even goes as far as trying to attack them.
Later on, she softens up to them, especially to Fuuko when she tells her she was responsible as well for killing Gina and apologizes.
Etymology
- The name Tatiana translates to "Fairy Queen".
- In Japanese, her name is pronounced "Tachiana", the first part of which is pronounced similarly to the Japanese word タッチ (Tatchi) which means "touch", a hint towards her power Untouchable.
