UMA

UMA (ユーマ, Yūma^?), short for Unidentified Mysterious Animals, are creatures created by God that The Union must face as a part of Apocalypse's Quests.

Overview

UMA are large, otherworldly looking creatures that embody a specific rule that has been imposed on the world by God. Each has a radius in which they can enforce their rule upon anything that enters, and each UMA has abilities unique to it based around the rule it embodies. According to Spoil, they can be classified into two types:

• Phenomenon-Type, embodying physical phenomena such as change, burning, or decay;
• Concept-Type, embodying abstract concepts such as the seasons (Spring, Summer, Autumn, and Winter are all concept-type UMA), luck, justice, etc.

Spoil also says that Concept-type UMAs tend to "look down on" Phenomenon-type UMAs, though it is unknown whether this is true or not.

UMA can also create offspring. The Union refer to these as "Juniors". These offspring can be created when an UMA enforces its rule in a certain way, with one such example being the zombies made by Spoil. UMA may use their juniors in order to gain access to a new form under the name of Phase 2.

Amongst UMA, there are some called the "Master Rules", with a new one being added with each activation of Ragnarok. Each Master Rule is automatically added to any loop after their choosing, are granted absolute power and can never disappear. The first 10 serve a greater purpose than regular ones as the starting rules added in the initial loop. Currently, as it is the 101st loop, there are 100 master rules.

UMA have a core in their center, which is their true form. This core appears like a sphere with the UMA's face on it, destroying it is the only way to truly kill an UMA. When reduced to this form, the lose access to all their physical abilities and strength and can only hop and bite, however they retain their esoteric powers such as Spoil's aura of decay and Move's portals.

The UMA go through stages of evolution called "Phases" where with each new Phase their appearance changes drastically, becoming increasingly humanoid and increasing their power. Most UMA remain in Phase 1 but the most powerful ones can reach Phase 2. Only the "Ten Superior Rules" can reach Phase 3 without being influenced by God as in the case of Spring.
