The Unburn Arc is the seventeenth arc of the Undead Unluck manga series, and seventh arc of the 101st Loop Saga. It deals with the recruitment of Enjin by way of a ramen cooking competition to save Andy from Sun.
Synopsis[]
Following the success of the Sick Quest (Apocalypse had decided to count it as a victory for the Negators due to Move's interference), Fuuko, Nico, Gina, and Rip head to New York, Unburn's location, were they discover a popular ramen shop is hosted by Enjin. It turns out Fuuko had eaten his food before in the last loop (by proxy, as Rip actually made it due to Enjin's Unburn) but states compared to before, his current ramen lack "something". Enjin then realizes Fuuko is "The Red Cap of Good Luck", said to bring prosperity to ramen shops that she complimented. Fuuko and Enjin then decide to have a cooking competition in three day from now to pass down the recipe of his previous loop's self.
On the day of the competition, while the Negators use their abilities to try and keep up with Enjin's expertise, his ramen is still the most popular. However, Fuuko then reveals that the "something" his current recipe lacked was having his broth cold, having used cold air to chill the ramen. Enjin acknowledges what she was trying to tell her, "that a dish made for someone is what's most important" and prepares to cook again for the person he wanted give his ramen to the most; his ailing mother. However, Unburn promptly awakens and he can no longer operate a stove. Just then, Shen appears with some cooking supplies that can allow Enjin to cook again, and working with Fuuko as everyone travels back to Japan, where they crash into the hospital where his mother is located. After feeding his mother (as well as the other patients) his "Senpen Banka-Ramen", Enjin thanks Fuuko before agreeing to join her.
With Enjin and Unburn in tow, Fuuko finally begins the mission to rescue Andy from Sun to gain intel from him. However, they are intercepted by the Third Master Rule, Change. Fortunately, Andy is able to protect them, allowing the Union to escape by using a soul empowered "Parts Bullets: Fingers". As the Union return to Earth, Fuuko asks Ichico to track down the "soul bullets" that fell to Earth, stating that they will lead them to vital teammates; Kurusu, Backs, Tatiana, Top, and a young girl that resembles Juiz.
